New Construction and Renovation of “Zum Großen Christoph” at Regierungsstraße 61/62 in Erfurt

This project involves the complex task of renovating a half-timbered building called “Zum Großen Christoph”, which was built in 1605, and the construction of a new building.

The older building will receive an additional addition in the rear area for the creation of areas for kitchens and baths as well as the improvement of the apartments. In combination with the maintenance of the memorial, constructional elements such as stucco ceilings, paintings and natural stone ornaments have been renovated in detail.

With its inclined gables, the new construction being added to the older building is following the construction of that period, will compliment the ensemble at Regierungsstraße 61/62 and will create a high-quality interior courtyard for the residents. An old, historic basement of the former addition has been renovated and integrated into the design of the interior courtyard.
