Wetzlar Plaza
Once part of the baroque area of the city, the plaza today marks the transition point of the heavily trafficked pedestrian paths between the train station and inner city pedestrian zone. A generously laid-out pedestrian area divided by cobblestone pathways maps the primary traffic path between the train station and the inner city to its users. Modern pedestals support the rolling traffic flanked by a multitude of large, old linden trees, which lend a special image to the plaza. The newly laid-out green areas liaise between the paths crossing the plaza and the rising, highly valued baroque buildings of the former post office and the old forest warden’s office.
